His Way and Time

Thanks to God, who continually encouraged and inspired me to keep writing, and to three people who helped make the book a better read. Terry, the editor gave it clarity of text. Sharon, my daughter and formatter of the book gave consistency to the layout. She also built my beautiful website. And Willi Gutowski, a Christian psychiatrist gave credibility to what I experienced, and to my healing. His endorsement (see below) is on the back cover.

The book is complete with ISBN number, is recorded by the Library and Archives of Canada, and contains relevant drawings and poems. An interesting mix of spiritual and psychiatric information is written for easy understanding. I also share practical aids to healing that worked for me. The 6x9, laminate-protected soft cover contains 225 pages, with chapters broken up by sub-titles, so readers can lay the book down and pick it up again with ease.

May the wisdom and knowledge I gained throughout my suffering, give hope to readers for their recovery. This book is mostly for schizophrenics and families, but those with other mental illnesses should benefit as well. Professionals will also learn much from my story and the stories of others whom I’ve helped find peace and healing. And pastors and youth group leaders will find knowledge to use as preventive medicine for young people in their care.

Most sufferers of mental illness experience faith problems, untouchable by today’s professionals due to political correctness. Therefore, I share my own spiritual fears and how they were overcome.  I write from a broad Christian experience and love for the whole body of Christ. My goal: to make the majority of Christian readers feel comfortable, even if they don’t completely agree with all of my spirituality. I was blessed by a church pastor, who said this was one of the most unbiased Christian books he’d ever read.

God’s word encouraged and strengthened my faith, assuring me of His ability to save, heal and restore me. I share many positive truths, which I learned to plant deeply in my subconscious mind. Gradually they deleted the negative fears, confusions and doubts that I had allowed to be rooted there. I also include precious wisdom given me by the Holy Spirit.

Recently, different TV documentaries confirmed 2 of the 3 main triggers, which I theorize as the cause of psychoses in most types of schizophrenia. One was given by a brain researcher, and one by a doctor who’s helping his patients heal by teaching certain mind exercises. In my story, I share how God helped me gain victory over these two troubles, and another.

Many youth follow paths that lead away from trusting in God’s provision for their life goals. Discouragement and often despair can arise if they don’t quickly find the right career, job or soul mate. Jesus said, if we’d seek Him and His kingdom first, we’d find our worldly needs met. Following Jesus’ WAY and TIME gradually restored my trust in Him. This led to more confidence that my prayers would be heard and answered. As I focused more on Him, I lost my fears and experienced His peace, which began to heal my mind naturally.

I pray what I learned will give many sufferers a speedier recovery than I, but it is impossible to promise total healing for all. This is because so many variables are involved in this complex disease. If you choose to follow Jesus, the Prince of Peace, it will take perseverance and patience - but it is well worth the effort. Like me, you will probably need to ask Him to grow your trust in Him again. Caution: Please don’t discard medications until your doctor agrees that you should give it a try.

Some say I give false hope. My answer is that any hope is better than no hope at all. And the hope I give is hope in God, which He says never disappoints. A large portion of the book is devoted to securing your identity in Christ and all that means. By reading it you will certainly grow closer to the One who loves you and is interested in your well-being.
